Alianna

The sounds of buzzing woke me up and one of my eyes peeled open. I felt something warm wrapped around me. Something strong. And as I moved closer to it, I felt something tighten around my waist. It wasn’t until I felt that soft stubble of his chin as he kissed my shoulder that I realized where I was. The smell of Luca overwhelmed me. The heat of his kiss made me shiver against him. I smiled as I turned over, taking in his sleeping form as my eyes danced along his face.

And all of it, backdropped by my phone continuously buzzing.

“Go away,” I murmured.

I pulled the covers over our naked bodies and sank back into him. I fell in and out of sleep, constantly brought to the surface by the never-ending phone calls I kept getting. Text messages I probably had. Voice message alerts I knew were waiting for me. But, I wanted to stay in this dreamscape with Luca just a little while longer.

So, in and out of sleep I went.

He felt so warm, and comforting. Inviting, and personal. I enjoyed the bubble we had that morning, where I’d wake up and find him softly snoring next to me. His morning breath against my face felt marvelous. Albeit, a bit stinky. But, whose wasn’t after some alcohol and french fries? I kissed the tip of his nose every time I woke up, then curled deeply into him every time I felt myself falling back asleep.

Then, when I opened my eyes yet again, I found Luca staring at me.

“Good morning, gorgeous,” he murmured, smiling.

I giggled. “Morning, handsome.”

He kissed my cheek, causing me to shiver as his leg trapped mine between his thighs. His arm tightened around my waist, pulling me close to his body as my fingertips ran along the stubble of his jawline. His deep brown eyes focused on me and his mangled dark brown hair called to me touched. I slid my hand over his cheek, listening to him sigh as I ran my hand through his hair. Slowly working out the knots as his eyes fell closed again.

“If you keep that up, I’ll go back to sleep,” he murmured.

“Wouldn’t be an issue with me,” I said, grinning.

He took my hand from his hair and brought it to his lips to kiss. I smiled as he pressed a kiss to each of my knuckles, then against the palm of my hand. I shivered at the warmth of his lips. Never in my life had I felt so cherished by someone. I felt like a prize to him. A delicate prize he wanted to do everything in his power to keep.

And while most women would have hated that, I adored it.

“Are you a coffee drinker?” I asked.

“You know I am. Are you?” Luca asked.

“I am, yes.”

“Well, since we’re both coffee drinkers and I have a percolator, I could make us a pot.”

“But that means you have to move,” I said, softly whining.

“Or, we could wake up with one another, if that’s your thing.
